This volume is similar to the newest  RISE of Nations version,

except for the IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) assignments that are incorporated into the literature assignments section.  This edition references the older version of IEW with video assignments and syllabus references.

However,  there is a digital download supplement that will help you to integrate the newer IEW program pages, video assignments, and instructions as closely as possible while maintaining the older format.

If you are using a different writing program then the different/newer IEW will not affect you, just ignore the IEW writing assignments and insert your own writing assignments.

Your student will still be able to work on mastering skills that will be useful for future education and life.  The heart of RISE of NATIONS still stays the same.
