What are Resource Packages?

 

TRISMS is a research-based curriculum.  It is our goal to teach students independent research skills by guiding them with questionnaires, providing resource lists and ideas, and by offering resource packages to help students get started.

TRISMS offers a variety of wonderful resource packages, each designed to meet specific goals and needs students will encounter in their studies.  These packages are NOT required to complete the curriculum, nor do they provide ALL THE ANSWERS.  They are simply tools that we have found to be excellent in content, excellent in material presentation, cost-effective, great buys, and well-suited for the TRISMS student.

TRISMS has further discounted these already value-priced books and other resources to make the packages affordable for the TRISMS user.  We highly recommend these packages if you are new to TRISMS, have limited library or Internet sources, do not have a library of resources at home, or just want a good starting point. 

Our available resource packages are:

Resource Starter Set with IEW - A one time purchase for $235.00

This Starter Set is a great way to begin the TRISMS journey. It includes resources you can use with every TRISMS volume, as well as with other programs you may be using. It includes the complete IEW TWSS program, which in itself is a gold mine for teaching your student to write and is taught and utilized in all of the TRISMS volumes. The set also includes a great writer’s guide, some excellent world outline maps, the indispensable Rand McNally World History Atlas, Reading through the Ages for great book lists, and Easy Timeline Creator software, a must for making the many visual timelines required by the TRISMS curriculum.

Resource Starter Set without IEW - A one time purchase for $84.00

This is the same as the above set, but does not include IEW.  Great for people who already own and use the IEW program, but want more resources for TRISMS.

History Makers Resource Package $115.00

This nine item package will enhance your History Maker’s studies, as well as provide excellent resources for the research-based questionnaires.  American History study is enhanced with American Adventures 1 and American Adventures 2, our all new History Makers Map Key on CD, American History Source Texts on CD, and True Stories of World War I and True Stories of World War II.  For general research, you can’t go wrong with this package that includes one of the best Science Encyclopedias we have ever found from the DK Company, and an Internet-linked Usborne World History.  For your art-minded students, the Usborne Introduction to Art and Discovering Great Artists will provide background through time and hands-on packages.  These two books come with an inclusion sheet for TRISMS.

High School Resource Package $145.00

This unique set is designed to help with all of the TRISMS high school volumes.  It includes Fallacy Detective, a great help for the rhetoric studies found in two of the volumes as well as 101 Secrets of Highly Effective Speakers, one of the best books we have ever seen on developing excellent public speaking skills – a real focus in TRISMS high school.  Because the high school volumes cover many religions throughout time, and also focus on architecture and art, we have included The Story of Architecture (DK), The Story of Art, The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Musical Instruments From All Eras and Regions of the World, and the Usborne Book of World Religions.  Finally, to challenge the way we think, the package has a wonderful book entitled, Discover your Genius, a must for thinking teens and adults!
